Our business approach
From enquiry
to discharge.
Commodity trading rewards preparation. Our process is designed to settle the questions that matter before anyone is committed to an outcome.
The principle
Detail first.
Commitment second.
Most difficulties in commodity trade can be traced back to something that was assumed rather than agreed.
A grade that was never confirmed against the project standard. A discharge port whose draft restrictions were discovered late. An inspection regime that two parties understood differently. These are avoidable, and avoiding them is the work.
We front-load that work. It makes the early part of a conversation slower and the rest of it considerably faster.
The process
Six stages,
one accountability.
The same people stay with a transaction from first enquiry through to delivered documentation.
Sourcing
We establish what is genuinely required — grade, standard, quantity, timing and destination — then identify supply that matches it. Where we cannot source to the requirement, we say so early.
Procurement
Commercial terms, quality parameters, inspection arrangements and payment structure are negotiated together, because each one affects the others.
International trading
Contracts are concluded on terms that both sides have read and understood, with obligations, tolerances and remedies written down rather than left to custom.
Logistics
Shipment planning covers vessel or transport suitability, loading and discharge arrangements, and the port and terminal constraints that apply at each end.
Distribution
Delivery is coordinated through to the receiving facility, with documentation prepared to meet the requirements of customs, inspection and the buyer in parallel.
Relationships
After delivery we review what worked and what did not. The relationships that have carried this business since 2015 were built in that conversation.
What this means for you
Practical commitments.
Three things you can expect from the first exchange onwards.
A direct answer
If your requirement is outside what we can properly serve, you will hear that quickly rather than after weeks of correspondence.
One point of contact
The person who discusses your requirement stays with it. You will not be handed between desks as a transaction progresses.
Documentation that holds
Inspection certificates, shipping documents and commercial paperwork are prepared to meet the requirements that apply at your destination.
